B.El.Ed - Bachelor of Elementary Education

B.El.Ed - Bachelor of Elementary Education is an undergraduate bachelor's degree course with 4-year duration. The course trains candidates to deal with children from 6-12 years. It gives an insight into child psychology and cognitive development, theories and practices of elementary education, and holds introductory courses on how children learn. The training encompasses a set of support, services, and instructions for children with learning disabilities and individually designed programs to meet their learning needs; short attention spans and varied personalities and values. Lessons are also given to establish and enforce rules, develop lesson plans and maintain order with instructional material.
The course is divided into the following phases, the first 3 years focus on lectures and theory subjects and the second phase which is the remaining year is dedicated to practical training.
Eligibility Criteria for B.El.Ed
Candidate must possess 10+2 or equal qualification from a recognised educational board.
A minimum score of 50% at the 10+2 level.
The general age limit for the course is 15 to 17 years. This might vary from state to state and institute to institute.
Entrance Exams for B.El.Ed
Admission is provided based on relevant entrance tests conducted on state and national levels, followed by a round of counselling that includes group discussions and personal interviews. Delhi University conducts its B.El.Ed Entrance Exam, wherein candidate can pursue B.El.Ed from any of the affiliated colleges under Delhi University.
